本試驗機適用于固體絕緣材料如：塑料、薄膜、樹脂、云母、陶瓷、硅膠、玻璃、絕緣漆等，在空氣或液體介質(zhì)中，測量工頻（48~62Hz）或?qū)?yīng)直流電壓下?lián)舸姸群湍碗妷簳r間。
適用范圍：
適用于連續(xù)均勻升壓或逐級升壓的方式，對試樣施加交流/或直流 電壓直至擊穿，測量擊穿電壓值，計算試樣的擊穿強度；用迅速升壓的方法，將電壓升到規(guī)定值，保持一定的時間試樣不擊穿，定此時規(guī)定值為試樣的耐電壓值。
術(shù)語和定義：
- 耐電壓值： 迅速將電壓升高到規(guī)定值，保持一定時間試樣未被擊穿，稱此電壓值為試樣的耐電壓值，以kV表示。
- 擊穿電壓： 試樣在某一電壓作用下被擊穿，此時的電壓值稱擊穿電壓，以kV表示。
- 擊穿電壓強度： 試樣的擊穿電壓與其厚度之比，稱電壓強度，以KV/mm表示。
